Blackstock Hike
January 29, 2012
10:00am
Join PCF guide, Christopher Burnette, (aka
XtremeKatfishn) on a hike on the Blackstock Passage of
the Palmetto Trail. You won't want to miss this hike on
the scenic and interpretive historical battlefield. The
Battle of Blackstock - which took place on November 20,
1780 on what is today the boundary between Union and
Spartanburg counties - was a victory for the Patriot
Militia and set the stage for a decisive British defeat
at Cowpens. This 4 mile loop trail runs along a remote
section of the beautiful Tyger River. Meet the guide at
the Trailhead on Monument Road at 10am. Bring a
lunch, water bottle, comfortable hiking shoes, and a
camera.
